Privacy: the short version
There are no accounts. We never ask for your name or email, and we don't run ads or third-party trackers. The game knows you only as a random ID.
What we keep
- A random player ID. The first time you play, your browser gets a random string of letters and numbers, stored in a cookie on this site. It isn't derived from anything about you. It's used only to run the game: to remember which lots you've bid on, keep your one bid per lot, and show your results again if you come back.
- Your bids. For each lot: the amount, how long you took, and the date, stored against that random ID. They're used to score your day and, without the ID, to build the crowd stats everyone sees.
- Settings on your device. Things like whether sound is muted are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.
What we don't do
- No names, emails, phone numbers or accounts.
- No advertising, and no advertising or social-media trackers.
- No selling or sharing of player data. Crowd stats are published only as totals and charts, never per player.
- The fonts are served from this site, so loading a page doesn't contact Google Fonts or any other font service.
Our host
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the technical details of each request, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use that information to identify players.
Clearing it
Clearing this site's cookies and data in your browser removes your player ID, and with it the link between you and your past bids. Your next visit starts as a new player. If you'd like your bids deleted too, emailhello@unclesold.com before clearing anything and we'll tell you how to find your player ID so we can remove them.
Changes
If we ever add something new, such as optional accounts or privacy-friendly analytics, this page will say so first. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
